This program is designed to provide unemployed, economically disadvantaged older adults with useful, part-time community service employment in a public or private non-profit agency. This is a work/training program that pays the participants at minimum wage, helps in upgrading job skills and, in some cases, results in transition into unsubsidized, mainstream employment.
Each enrollee’s job skill level is assessed upon entry into the program and their needs are matched with the various participating host agencies.
